GardenMania: community garden for building, growing and relaxing

Inspired by the English and French classical gardens of the 18th and 19th century, the GardenMania project propagates the love of plants and gardening on 1500 m² of space. The community garden is located at Strijp-S in the city centre of Eindhoven, the Netherlands where innovation and creativity go hand in hand. People living or working at Strijp-S can grow vegetables, fruit and flowers in a sustainable environment. GardenMania aims to improve the quality of life, accessibility, consistency and triggers people to start a conversation.

The garden plan

GardenMania gives artists, designers and others the chance to contribute to this community by putting forward own ideas. This enormous garden consists mainly of planters and construction bags filled with biological plants. Inspiring others contributes to a real ‘gezamstwerk’ which will show the urban culture identity of Strijp-S.

Art projects, events and workshops

Dutch and foreign artists can show their art in GardenMania, as well as musicians that want to perform in a unique setting. In addition, workshops are organized regularly where people learn to make furniture, cook with biological food and so on. Last but not least, lectures are held to provide information about food-growing and other themes that have something to do with sustainability. GardenMania is a place where knowledge passes on to others in order to achieve the best result as possible.

Want to visit GardenMania? GardenMania is open from April to October on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 12.00 – 19.00 pm. More information can be found on there website (in Dutch).
